What’s involved in the application process?
Pick up an application in the main entry lobby of 38 Columbus Street, Seymour or download an application here. * * Please be sure to indicate which property you are applying for on the top of page 2. * * Completed applications should be submitted via US Mail to our Management Office, 38 Columbus Street, Seymour CT 06483. Be sure to include the application fee of $50. per applicant, which covers the cost of background screening required as part of the application. Please note that all applicants must be 55 years or older.

I’ve submitted an application- now what?
Applications are typically processed within two (2) weeks. Once an application has been reviewed, applicants are notified in writing regarding their eligibility for the property. Please note that the final eligibility determination is based on the most current information at the time a unit becomes available, and must be verified using third-party documentation, such as wage and bank statements, benefit letters, pension statements, public assistance vouchers, insurance policy statements, and any other relevant income documentation. Having this information readily available at the time a unit becomes available will allow us to quickly process your application.
What type of documentation is required?
You will be contacted once we have reviewed your application to request additional third-party documentation to verify the information included in your application. A list of this documentation can be provided upon request.
Can I schedule a showing?

How long is the lease?
The lease is for 12-months.
How much is the security deposit?
The security deposit is equal to one-month’s rent. Both the security deposit and the first month’s rent are due at the time of lease signing and must be paid by certified check or money order.
What are the monthly costs?
Residents pay their own utilities, cable, and phone. Private on-site parking is available on a limited basis for an additional monthly fee. Rent includes water, sewer, taxes, trash removal, maintenance, 24-hour monitoring, secure entry system, landscaping, and snow removal. There are no monthly common charges.
Is on-site parking available?
On-site parking in the 38 Columbus garage is available on a limited basis for an additional monthly fee. Residents may apply for an assigned permit by requesting a parking application form from our Management Office at 38 Columbus Street, Seymour CT 06483. Please note that on-site parking is limited to sub-compact vehicles only, due to space restrictions and that other criteria may apply.
Are there other parking options?
Convenient public parking is available on the street per posted town regulations, or in any of the municipal lots located throughout the downtown. Municipal lots are located adjacent to the Strand Theatre; Train Station; Tingue Fishway; and across the street from the former Trestle Tavern.
Do I need a municipal parking permit?
We recommend that residents without an assigned permit apply for a municipal parking sticker from the Town, available from the Seymour Police Department. To apply, complete and return a municipal parking application to the Seymour Police Department, Records Division, 11 Franklin Street, Seymour. The annual cost is $25.00 and stickers are valid from July to July of each calendar year. For additional information, contact the Seymour Police Department Records Division at 203-881-7612.

Where should visitors park?
Public parking is conveniently located on the street and in several municipal lots located within a short walking distance from the building. Please note that parking on the premises is reserved for assigned permit parking only.
What if on-site parking is not available when I move-in?
You may request to be added to the 38 Columbus garage parking waitlist if there are no permits available at the time you move-in (or if you obtain a vehicle at a later date) by submitting a parking application form to our Management Office at 38 Columbus Street, Seymour CT 06483. Residents without an assigned permit must park on the street or in any of the municipal lots in accordance with town regulations. Parking permits are available to residents of both 16 Bank & 38 Columbus.
What is the policy regarding smoking?
16 Bank & 38 Columbus are non-smoking buildings and smoking is strictly prohibited on the premises. Violation of this policy will result in termination of the lease and eviction from the premises.
Are pets allowed?
One small cat or dog weighing less than 25 lbs. is permitted per household. There is an additional application form and pet security deposit equal to one-month’s rent required for all households with pets. Current vaccination and license must be provided prior to move-in.
What appliances are included?
Each unit includes a refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, and washer/dryer hook-up housed in a dedicated closet.
What size washer & dryer will fit in the unit?
Washer/dryer closets will accommodate this stacking GE model or this Whirlpool model measuring approx. 24 inches wide x 27.25 inches deep.

Is there a laundromat nearby?
